SALLY BERESFORD ANTIQUES & FRENCH FARMHOUSE TABLES – Moss Vale

An experience not to be missed, the legendary Sally Beresford collections now call Mount Ashby Vineyard home. A beautifully restored old dairy is the ideal setting to sit around one of Sally’s inimitable French Farmhouse tables, fashioned from seasoned timbers, and enjoy a home made soup or charcuterie plate with a glass of wine from the cellar door. Also on site is the relocated, Davis Produce Store (circa 1918), showcasing C17-19 French Provincial and English Georgian antiques and objets d’art.

MITTAGONG ANTIQUE CENTRE – 13km

One of the most substantial antique centres outside of Sydney with more than 45 dealer stalls and coffee shop.

DIRTY JANES EMPORIUM & ANTIQUE MARKET– Bowral (Cnr Bong & Banyette)

Much-loved by local bowerbirds, Dirty Janes is the best for vintage with a fabulous ‘recycled rags’ clothing salon. Namesake ‘Dirty’ Jane Dumphrey was the daughter of a ‘rag & bone’ man from Northern Island. She brought her trading trash & treasure to regional NSW back in 1840, arriving as a convict on the Surrey 1 for stealing an etched Ostrich egg. Jane died in 1883 but the spirit of her eclectic collections is alive and well in this fantastic emporium of bric-a-brac, quality home furnishings, antique furniture and more. Right next door is the Antique Market with some 70 independent dealers offering everything a collector might crave.

THE MERCHANT OF WELBY – Welby

Specialising in genuine Australian heritage pieces that demonstrate the unique warmth and beauty of colonial cedar such as bookcases and sideboards, chiffoniers and chairs. Plus French Georgian and Victorian walnut and mahogany furnishings, heritage pottery and fine porcelain, Carnival glass and Pokerwork, silver, brass and copper items; some Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

STURT GALLERY – Mittagong, 3km

For leading contemporary Australian art, craft and design with occasional international exhibits. The sun drenched café with outdoor terrace is nestled in the beautiful established cottage gardens and open for brunch, lunch or afternoon tea.

MILK FACTORY GALLERY – Bowral

A vibrant contemporary conversion of an original Milk Factory built in 1921 as a depot for local farmers to process their dairy products. The 7 metre high ceilings and timber floors offset original works in all mediums from printmaking, ceramics and photography to sculpture. Great coffee and inspired food, like avocado with black volcanic salt, at the Café des Artistes, completes the picture.

GALLERY ECOSSE – Exeter

A contemporary gallery in the historic village of Exeter showcasing some of Australia’s most exciting artists including indigenous work as a permanent part of the stable. Paintings, drawings, sculptures, artifacts and limited edition works. Also hosts solo exhibitions for artists at its Halcyon Cottage (circa 1869).

FETTLERS SHED GALLERY – Robertson

Heritage buildings of the former railway workmens sheds have been transformed into a multi-purpose art gallery and exhibition space. Shows by local artists and craftspeople on weekends.
